This page explains how the Wally Chafchak campaign handles information submitted through this website.
Information you provide
When you contact the campaign, request a lawn sign, volunteer or pledge to vote, you may provide your name, contact details, address or message. The information requested depends on the form you use.
How it is used
The campaign uses this information to respond to enquiries and manage the requests you submit. Campaign members handling those requests and service providers supporting the website, forms and email may process that information.
Form submissions are delivered to the campaign by email. The website itself does not keep a database of submissions.
Campaign updates
Receiving campaign updates is optional. Submitting a request does not automatically subscribe you to updates. You can ask to stop receiving updates at any time by contacting Wally@Wally4Ward10.ca.
Technical information and service providers
The website is hosted by Vercel, form submissions are sent to the campaign by the email service Resend, and the campaign’s mailbox is provided by Microsoft 365. As with most websites, the hosting provider processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the site.
The forms include simple spam checks. These use a hidden field, the time taken to complete the form and, briefly, your IP address to limit repeated submissions.
The website does not set cookies and carries no advertising. To understand which pages are useful, it uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies. It records the page viewed, the referring site, the approximate location (country, region and city) and the type of device and browser. Vercel reports these as totals that are not tied to an individual or an IP address.
The voting maps load map images from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when a map is displayed.
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so information may be processed outside Canada.
